Brickell City Centre offers visitors upscale shopping along with dining options and is about a 10- to 15-minute drive from Port of Miami.

Terminal F is PortMiami's 3rd cruise terminal dedicated to Carnival ships as well as currently the largest in North America. On May 4, 2018, from Barcelona were delivered two large passenger boarding bridges. Tailor-made for "Terminal F’", each bridge is 2-ton and 4-sectioned (telescopic), with length 32 m (105 ft). Miami-Dade funded the USD 38 million reconstruction project, which increased the terminal's capacity up to 6000 passengers. Once disembarking the cruise, just get on the Car Rental Shuttle (which stops by all the Terminals) to get back to the Airport. If you rent a car in advance it may work out cheaper and more conveniently. Hotels with breathtaking views and luxury options abound in Downtown, which is home to popular tourist attractions including Bayside Marketplace, Bayfront Park, Museum Park and Lummus Park. While still very much urban, Brickell offers a more suburban feel. Plenty of hotels are found in the neighborhood, which also offers fantastic dining and shopping at Mary Brickell Village. The comfort and assurance of the official option does come at a cost however, with many shuttle services costing around $25 to $35 per person.

In late-October 2019 was approved the agreement for Brightline Miami to be rebranded "Virgin Trains" and Virgin Group to build a train station (Virgin Trains PortMiami) at the cruise port.
